Berly:

Welcome to denim wrapped nightmares tipsy exchange Podcast where we explore the supernatural series episode by episode.

LA:

over drinks, we'll discuss the lore of gore and what we adore about the Winchesters and their adventures.

Berly:

I'm burly, and I'm a new fan of the series. I'm

LA:

LA, and I'm here along for the ride. Now let's get to it.

Berly:

Hello, la.

Unknown:

Hello Burley.

Berly:

We have some housekeeping items to cover before we dig into the special features for season five. All right, first, we got a new review. This is from Kayla, H to one exclamation point. It's titled a podcast to adore. If you've been looking for a podcast that recaps every episode of the best show made look no further. My favorite thing about this podcast is the honest reaction from the hosts. They are funny and so relatable. This is a great podcast for new fans, as well as fans that have been watching since the beginning. I like to play this when I'm cleaning or driving to help brighten my day. I definitely recommend this podcast or definitely, I definitely recommend giving this podcast a listen. Oh, oh, thank you, Kayla.

Unknown:

I'm happy we brighten her day.

Berly:

Yes, we thoroughly enjoy your reviews. If you haven't rated and reviewed the podcast already, please do so. Unless you hate us, then why are you even listening? Don't do that. Go away.

Unknown:

Yeah, away from the keyboard.

Berly:

A few other housekeeping items. First, we've gotten a few messages from people who are thinking about going to their first convention because of our episodes. We both highly encourage it. I've specifically gotten a couple of messages about the director chat with Richard Speight. Jr. Oh, really? Yes. Where people are asking if it's worth it. And that's definitely definitely yes, that's that's been both la Annise. One of our favorite things to do at the Convention also have gotten a couple of messages from people asking if I would care if they got pictures with Richard Speight, Jr. Just a couple of people, and you know what, y'all, I appreciate the consideration. That is very kind of you but outside of my own personal delusion, I have no claim or ownership. Hey, I wouldn't

Unknown:

just go you just go for it.

Berly:

So please go for it. But if you do go meet rich and Rob, we've had a couple of people message us that they've written watch kings are calling or listen to kings and cod because of us. If you want to let them know, Burley and La sent you their way, please feel free to do so. Let them know we've been putting in work

Unknown:

putting in the amount of

Berly:

hours them ours. We claim Richard Speight Jr. and Rob but we don't gate keep Richard Speight Jr. and Rob, you know, y'all don't have to ask us. Oh, speaking of conventions, rich and Rob have been confirmed for 2024 creation entertainment stuff. So all of them. I didn't check if it was all of them. I just checked where I'm going. But I imagine it's all of them. Yeah. So have been kids.

LA:

All right. And tell us about it. Tell Oh, yeah,

Berly:

we would love for you to message us and let us know about your experience. We have had some listeners do that in the past where they told us they went to Director chat or went to a convention because of our show and let us know that they had fun and it was totally worth it. So we'd love to hear from you. And share pictures, all

LA:

this all the style, the fun stuff.

Berly:

We all live vicariously through each other. Good times. Good times. Before we get into today's episode, let's revisit where we were on our last episode. Last episode was the season finale, titled swan song. The entire season had been leading up to a showdown between good and evil, Michael versus Lucifer. And they didn't really end up fighting. They just talked for a little bit. It's true, the big, big culmination. But with the apocalypse looming, Sam and Dean realized they were out of options. And they really did try a lot of things. There toward the end. One of them was thinking that they were gonna give up and let the angel have their vessel and then the other one was like, No, that's a terrible idea. But I'm going to do that same thing. It's a good idea for me to do it typical. Well, granted, he is the one that needed to be caged right through

LA:

true. I just meant typical of each of them wanting to do the wrong like the wrong thing, but thinking it's the right thing

Berly:

or sacrificing them together. Yeah,

LA:

exactly. Yeah, that's better than what I said.

Berly:

But In the end, they had to make heartbreaking decisions. And Sam with Lucifer ended up in the cage, or did he BUMP BUMP bomb? And that was that was the season finale. And today we're talking special features, which LA has the grand honor, because these special features weren't complicated at all.

LA:

Well, okay, I'm gonna breeze through the first part that we set through.

Berly:

Listen, the initial premise of it was cool. Oh, I

LA:

loved that. Yeah, yeah. So like it. Like you said, it's about like a video game kind of and it starts out, we're at Bobby's house outside, we walk in, we're in the kitchen. And then it spins over to the, like a little sitting area before you get in the library, where the TV will

Berly:

think it was still the kitchen was, I think, Oh, it was just kind of in the corner.

LA:

Yeah. So we're in it stops and then it kind of guide you to click on different things to get to the features, which it was it was I liked the way it was done. And

Berly:

I liked most of Jim beavers voiceover stuff, too. Yes. Yeah, that was fun. Yeah, the

LA:

very first thing was a cassette player. Old school. And Bobby's telling the the boys I'm assuming, like, get get to look around but go through my stuff to figure out what how we can I

Berly:

just realized we didn't push the other button on the tick the to the stop button. The stop button was lit up. We never pressed in. Oh, we're gonna go back. We'll come back and do that. Another mystery schedule right now. Oh, are you serious? Yeah. Oh, damn. So we're back. Wow. Wow. Wow. Really happy that we, we took the initiative to go ahead and go do that. We should have known nothing happened guys know nothing. Nothing happens when you hit the stop.

Unknown:

I don't know why. Why is it even an option though? You know, like, why would

Berly:

you need to go hit stop while Bobby's talking? Right. I don't know. Okay,

LA:

well, that was a waste of time. But back to our special effects video game ish type set? Yeah. He tells them go go to my library. Check the stash get the information you need. We hit the TV first, right?

Berly:

Yeah. And what was the point of that? We hit the TV because it lit up. And it was like flashing at me. And I was like, I guess let's go check the TV first. And it was Bobby going, Hey, I told you to go to the library. What are you doing to watch TV? Why are you here at the television? I told you. I told you to go to the library. And I was like, Why did you make it an option?

Unknown:

Right. Same thing with the stop button. Yeah.

LA:

Well, anyway, we did go to the library library. And we started out at the bookshelf, right? I like his bookshelves there. Very nice. I like Bobby's house.

Berly:

I love the set. I love this. That's

LA:

such a mess.

Berly:

I was really hoping that we could use the controllers to like, look at more of Bobby's house to go look at more of it go upstairs. I thought we were gonna get to explore Bobby's house a little bit more than we did. It was still really cool. Yeah. But I would have liked to have had a an interactive tour of all of Bobby's house.

LA:

Same. Yeah, I love it. Like I was saying it's such a big house for just him even when he was just him and his wife. So we go to the bookshelf and on the bookshelf, there are some VCR tapes. VHS. They played in the VCR? Yeah. Yeah. There were how many 403?

Berly:

I don't know. I don't know. There were several of them. And he told us that he did us a favor and filtered out the boring stuff. Yeah, and the commercials and the commercials. So I think there were just four that you could actually click on. I want to say there were like eight there. Yeah, he didn't filter too good, though.

LA:

No, I wouldn't have minded seeing commercials on

Berly:

dry. But the first one we started with was Michael and Lucifer brothers question mark, question mark, question mark. And like the whole I want to say it was like 15 minute segment was just about but are they brothers?

LA:

And let me tell you by the end, we

Berly:

still don't You don't know. Yeah, you watch all of it. And you there's never an answer to it. The

LA:

worst was the end of in times. What are no I'm sorry, behind the curtain with Jack crossly. I say that I actually still liked some of it. But just like the way they were all talking, mostly the guy that was moderating Yeah, just like monotone and I don't know,

Berly:

and how he kept making it about joey theoretical little boy Joey Yeah. What am I supposed to tell Joey whenever he tells me how the world's gonna end. Let's Joey's disappointed

Unknown:

and upset now. Yeah. How

Berly:

do I console Joey?

LA:

So I mean it if you love the Lord and what I mean it's a plethora. Other information, it's great, but I just was not in the mood. Right. And I was getting a little sleepy. But one of the videos was kind of interesting. It started out with interviews with different people have different cases of paranormal activity and things that had happened to different families and different people. So I mean, I'll just breeze through some of them. There was like the rows of family that had the little boy that had was having episodes. He was 14, he was screaming and careening around the walls. And this demonologist was there. He could feel that something entered with the kid. And then they did like an exorcism. And he said that they saw some sort of vapor lifted out of him that he said was the demon.

Berly:

Yeah, I think he called it dark to light. Yeah. So we're like, oh, yeah, it was a demon. We know that because we watched the show.

LA:

And then there was Steven le chance. He was woken up by a phone and his doors kept shutting on their own. And I think his little girl was in the other room. He was calling out for the boys to stop, like closing the doors. And she was like, Daddy, they're asleep. I'm in here by myself. And then she got locked in there. Yeah, doors shut on her. And he had to go. He was like banging on the door trying to get in there. He said he like prayed to God, and then the door open to his little girl. Then there was Tim and Tom. They were brothers, aren't they? Yes. Okay. When they were younger at night, they shared a room in their closet door closed, like, open every night. They said they could hear the doorknob turning, which would creep me out. Mm hmm. And it would open every single night. And then he said that the sheets would lift. Yeah, their sheets would lift for,

Berly:

like several inches. Yeah, yeah. Oh, no, thank you.

LA:

They heard like distressed baby sounds too.

Berly:

And they had they played a little bit of it. Yeah.

LA:

So yeah, that was kind of interesting. Just to hear the little

Berly:

stories, the actual paranormal story. Yeah. Which may have been real. I don't know. Yeah. Yeah. You know, I think it was probably dramatic reenactments. But maybe the stories were real. No, I could see Eric crypkey using real ghost stories that he found online. True.

LA:

Then they went to the atheist guy. Yeah. And he was talking about Lucifer and

Berly:

difference between Satanists and what did they call it the theology? What was it the theists something devil worshippers?

LA:

Yeah. Oh, God. I should have heard that.

Berly:

I don't know, man, I can't remember I've had four, not four shots. Three shots.

LA:

Well, anyway, atheists got their their time to, I think part of it was like, I just was not expecting this at all, from the special features. And so it just seemed daunting.

Berly:

And the title of it was your guide to survive your survival guide for the apocalypse. And it's like, we got halfway through the videos. And I was like, not one of these has taught me how to survive the apocalypse. It was a lot of lore stuff.

LA:

Yes. So if we had we had pretty much covered all right, mostly with the angels and Lucifer and all their dynamics and different things and Satanists. And yeah. And if Michael and Lucifer were were brothers, and I was just

Berly:

like, I was like, How is any of this information that helped me survive the apocalypse? Right? None of it? None of it?

LA:

I mean, I guess research. It was their part of their research. I mean, they

Berly:

needed to research it to figure out what the deal was and didn't try and think how can we defeat them? Right. But as far as a civilians just trying to survive the apocalypse, which that's what I thought it was more going to be like, same. But we know Eric crypkey is all about this lore and mythology and stuff. So it makes sense that this is what it's gonna be. He's so cute, but

LA:

we moved on. Yep. And we moved on to the desk.

Berly:

That's where it showed two different books. One of them was right of the horseman by Carver Edlund. I thought that was cute. Yeah, I don't remember what the other one was. It was something about Eric crypkey.

LA:

Its CryptoKeys guide to the to the apocalypse.

Berly:

But whenever it first went to this, I just saw ride horseman. And so LA and I had a quick little conversation about okay, which horsemen would you ride? And we both very quickly came to the consensus that we would both ride war. Yeah. On the show. On the show characters hiatus? Yeah, yeah. We both ride war. But which Horseman's car would you drive? Ooh, death it was literally called the Death mobiel though because so many people died in it. Oh, oh. Okay, maybe not then I'm still thinking more Yeah, more red Mustang Yeah, yeah, cuz pestilence was like old Beto beat up Yeah. rusted, sickly looking car pestilence was in the whole SUV. I don't need that. Yeah, famine was a big ol SUV that Oh, salmon. Sorry. Yeah. Just Gasc get with them when they were talking about the cars. And we realize famine wasn't a gas guzzler? Clever. Yeah, yeah. But yeah, we both wore wore one out. So let's Yeah, what the horsemen stuff I thought was interesting. Yeah, these two these two were really interesting. I enjoyed these two features. It was really cool

LA:

because I mean, it was what it was Eric crypkey Robert singer. Ben Edlund Sarah gamble. Yeah.

Berly:

So some of the DeRosa Grecia was

LA:

in there. Yes. Yeah, just see fail. So yeah, it was nice to see like this writer, directors, producers, and they were all talking about the season and bringing in the horsemen, all the thought that went behind it. Yeah. And I loved it. Like when Sarah was saying that, like they didn't couldn't ride them in on horses. So it was like brilliant because the show so much centered around the or I think it was Ben Edlund saying the show centered around the road and the car. It's kind of fitting for them to write in on different cars as horses, you know, in place them and then I liked how Sarah was talking about, you couldn't really kill the horseman. So they decide they're supposed to be so powerful, right? So she was like, well, maybe the shoot she said, they decided to try and find a way to disempower them, which was cutting the rings off, giving each of them a ring to cut off and take their power, which I was like that's I mean, I guess I didn't really think about it too much. But I was like, that is very well done.

Berly:

Uh huh. It was well thought out. Yeah, I like it. And I love how on one hand, it is. So well thought out. They think of things. But on the other hand, and I'm kind of jumping around here, but in ERIC Kripke keys, little video, he talks about how in the writers room how it's actually a lot of chaos. Yeah, you know, things come together in a plan. But he said, You know, I have like an overall kind of idea. But we weren't thinking about oh, yeah, this let's introduce this Croatoan episode in Season two, because that's going to amount to something all the way in. That's not how it happened.

LA:

Right. But it was like it was gnawing at him, though. Yeah,

Berly:

he did say it was bothering him that That episode was never really wrapped up. Everybody just disappeared. And it was just kind of left open ended. And it's been bothering him. So he even said that he's pretty sure the writers were like, Why don't we do this just to shut them up. But you know, I've seen people posting online. Well, they'll make comments like, oh, they planned this 10 years in advance. I was like, no, no, they didn't. They just have little loose threads that not them and they decide eventually, let's figure out a way to tie that up. Right, which I think is even cooler.

LA:

Oh, I love it. Yeah, yeah. Well, yeah, that was all in CryptoKeys. Guide to the apocalypse. Yeah. Which I really liked. And I loved him talking about the process and how

Berly:

we both love him t shirts, a little weird maniac I adore.

LA:

Yeah, that's what he said. He was saying it's triage. That's what he said. Yeah, from from start to finish. That's his day at the office. And that throughout his day, he's having to think about seven episodes, keep everything straight, going into different writers rooms, and trying to keep it all straight. And I'm like, I don't know how he could do that. I

Berly:

loved that. He said, he'll act out the whole episode with a lot of profanity, and I just kind of thought he must be so happy getting to do the boys now where he gets to include that profanity. Oh, yeah, there's a lot of there's

Unknown:

so much inappropriate shit, I'm not sure.

Berly:

He also commented on how they reward insanity in Hollywood.

Unknown:

Oh my god. I know.

Berly:

I thought that was hilarious. Yeah, his his little special feature at like, I liked the ride of the horseman. But his little special feature that was my favorite out of the special features me

LA:

to say, yeah, I really enjoyed hearing his routine and how he went through everything. And then we saw Russ the movie God, Hamilton. Oh, yes. And he was taking us around the location. He's a location manager, and taking us all around the little town where backlot

Berly:

yes, they got a backlight. And what I loved about that is when we were watching that episode, the end, you and I were both going where did they shoot that? Because that looks like an actual town that looks like small street Main Street in us a strip. Yeah. And we were curious, did they find a find an abandoned town where they were able to do this? Is that set build? How did they do that? So for for once we got one of our questions answered. Special features. It was exciting. It

LA:

was cool. We thought we went in where'd we go? We Oh, we went to the diner. Right. And that was

Berly:

cool. That was from Dead men don't wear plaid when they meet Jody mills.

LA:

And the alley where Dean and Cass other little little cats got their lover spy. And then I loved that the hardware store where everything went down was actually like a makeshift that they they built themselves so that they could blow it up. Right.

Berly:

It was really interesting. Yeah, it was so awesome. Just hearing him talk about how much they use that backlot. And yet, we would have never guessed from all the episodes they showed us and all of that that. Oh, yeah, that was right there. Oh, yeah. That was right there. Like it was really creative the way they repurposed everything. Yeah,

LA:

I love it. And those are the special features I like, like the behind the scenes stuff. So that's why when we started watching that first set, I was just like, What is this? This isn't special features to me. But yeah, so the horsemen and the cookies guide. Awesome. Yeah, loved it. Love both of those. And then we moved on to the

Berly:

ghost spacers We went to the bunker first. Oh, I forgot about that. Yeah, what was in the what was in the panic room? I don't even remember. I didn't

LA:

write anything about that. So

Berly:

we did there. We did go to the panic room. And I remember selecting the bulletin board and one of the symbols within the sigil on the floor within the devil's trap, but I don't remember what either of those videos were about. I do not either. You didn't write it down. No.

Unknown:

No, that's terrible for me. I was over it. I was like, I saw the two best things. I don't eat anything else.

Berly:

I really I'm trying to remember it. I really can't.

LA:

It was the the the poster board the cork board. Yeah,

Berly:

I remember what we clicked on. But I cannot remember for the life of me what either of the features were like, so they couldn't have been that interesting. Yeah, I guess. Moving on. Sorry.

LA:

Well, moving on what else was important to me? Yeah, you got excited about this one? Go spacers go spaces. They could have just done a whole little episode. But they broke it up,

Berly:

I think, because of the commercial that we saw. And I think I've seen some stuff online with like comments and whatnot that it was actually a web series, where an episode was released on the website, like once a week or something. Okay, so that's probably why it was broken up like that.

LA:

I see that. Well. Our first one was neat. The phasers and it started out with a Mr. Beecher playing the piano. Mr. Beecher is a cat. It was adorable. I don't even like cats. I've taken up. I like cats. I'm just allergic to that. You just can't play with them. Yeah, like Yeah, it's their welcome video. And they talk about the jealous douche nozzles. Sam and Dean. They have like a dartboard. Yeah. With their faces on pictures. Yeah. And they say that if you're dead, you better stay dead or else they're gonna come kill you. Yeah. Then it switches to a new interns interview. Dave, little Dave, do you want to talk about the bad comment? About which Corbett Oh, the bad Dave. They're talking about data. It's Harry and Edie. And they're talking about we got a new intern Dave.

Berly:

Oh, yeah. And then a AJ not AJ. AJ is the actor. Ed says he's no Corbett. And here he goes. Yeah, but he's alive. I was like, Oh, my God. Ed understandably gets upset. Yeah,

Unknown:

he's like, I need a minute. Yeah. Probably like, holy

Berly:

shit, Harry. Yeah.

Unknown:

He's like, he's he's been a little upset since quarter. But he's been. He's been practicing his ghost martial arts.

Berly:

I remember us seeing those special features. Oh, yeah.

LA:

And then Amber arrives at the end of this one. And as soon as Amber arrives and the boys see her, they fire Dave right on the spot. Yep. Cuz she's. She's a good looking blonde. And the next one was the grand showcase was it was a Maggie that discovered the story. I feel like she discovers everything. Probably yeah. They discovered that at this theater. There is this lady Janet Meyer, she was an actress and her husband killed her at the theater and cut her face up before she died and made her watch in the mirror. And

Berly:

they'd had multiple people experience. You know, haunted stuff at the theater are getting touched. I think they said somebody even got hurt. And so they were like time for the ghosts phasers and

LA:

right? Amber said some. She was like, what if it's haunted guy? Yeah. Like go hey, Amber. Get with the program. Oh, and then there was the first little hinting of remember, Maggie and Harry alike have a little bit of a history.

Berly:

They decided not to date each other because it would be weird and not good for the team. But clearly there's still interest.

LA:

Then then the next episode was the big break. They are at the Grand showcase theater, and they're doing an EMF sweep. The boys end up cause to go where whichever way they do rock paper, scissors, scissors. Like Sam and Dean. Yeah, that was when the your faces in my box comments. Amber's got the camera with a little flip out screen. And it's like, am I is my face in little boxes? She's like, Yeah, your

Berly:

face is in my box. Yeah, just make sure my face is in your box. We're good. It was.

LA:

It was funny. It was pretty funny. And then he says the amber has the shining because she can feel when something's around.

Berly:

He said something comes in her. And then she talks. I was like, Okay, it's conversations

Unknown:

very interesting.

LA:

Then they go to the they're all in the projection room and Maggie mentions the temperature dropped like five degrees and there's a bang. The EMF starts going off on this box of film. We did see Janet Meyers ghosts appeared in a mirror. Yeah, she attacked spurs. Yes, yeah. So then we're in CSI meet Maggie. I was about to say Miami.

Unknown:

I don't even watch a dealer. She

LA:

switches to the next episode, which is CSI Maggie. Like, Maggie,

Berly:

I do Tarot.

LA:

They find Janet screen test in the box. They watch it. And they realize like maybe like, what is she sticking around for? Why is she still here? And they're like, Well, maybe she's still waiting for a big break. And Maggie calls them all over and sees on the thermal imaging that what was it?

Berly:

Maggie figured out that she was actually in the room with them, but they couldn't see her except for through the reflection in the mirror, because the thermal imaging showed spruce and then there was like this black spot next to him where they're thinking was the ghost, but they couldn't see her. So they're like, Okay, we need to get mirrors so that we can actually see her and try to find where she's at.

LA:

Correct. So then in the next episode, dead time, they're gathering all these mirrors from from everywhere, putting them in each room. There were a lot of mirrors and yeah, I'm like, What's, what's this theater about? I love these. I guess maybe the bathrooms? I don't

Berly:

know. Maybe the bathrooms. Maybe it was like a dual theater where they had movies and plays. And so people had to do their makeup and stuff in there. Oh, yeah.

LA:

There you go. Maybe, maybe, maybe, maybe I thought it was funny that Harry. They're like getting started to try and find Janet and he like reaches out for Maggie to like, rub his hands and she's like, What are you doing? You wanna hold hands for the gas. She's like, you want to hold hands with Amber.

Unknown:

She's like, literally jealous. I thought that

Berly:

was cute. I mean, they were being assholes about Amber. Oh, my God. I mean, even if Amber's character was eating it up, and it's totally an overdone trope, but do I know people like that? Yes. Oh, yeah. You know, so I was like, I can only critique it so far. True. But yeah, she had every right to kind of be like that.

LA:

Oh, yeah, I liked it. Yeah, I told you I like Maggie. I like bagging. Ed is sitting there and he's doing the surveillance on all the videos and the cameras start going out. And he can't see anybody anymore and Janet just frickin attacks him and slices his arm. And the next episode finishing the job I thought it was funny spruce like runs to Ed's so does Amber. And you caught that? He was like all upset and hurt. She called me. He was really upset at first, which when it was just spurts? Yeah. But the number shows up and he's like, oh, yeah, I'm good. Yeah, they ended up getting the cameras back up. And they see they run it back and they actually see Janet standing there and pulls the plug on the camera. I think we're Amber was Yeah, I think it was Harry was like, Alright, we're good. We've got our evidence, like we can head out now. Like we just needed the evidence of the paranormal activity. Let's

Berly:

let's bounce. Yeah, we just wanted to catch proof. That's all we wanted. But,

LA:

or no, I'm sorry. Oh, yeah. Then Edie is like nananana we need to take care of this after what happened to Corbett, you know, I don't want to leave this this to happen to somebody else. And I think that's when they mentioned I think it was Bruce was saying that. Like his culture. Sometimes they believe that like a picture captures their soul. And they're like, well, if a picture does then maybe a film does, and that's when they go and Burr actually burn her reel and spruce does his little Shaman. ologists whatever situation. And then we see that Janet shows up in the mirror in the room. Amber's then that she's gone back to she went back to her original room. And then this one was called the cutting room floor. Another inappropriate comment from Edie. With Amber going through the cameras. He's, he's on like, surveillance on everybody's camera. And she's like, preening in front of the camera. Like, Oh, can you see me? How do I look? He's like, great, you've got a great jaw line, blah, blah. And then he's putting his microphone back down. And and quietly says, and you're given me a chubby? Yeah.

Unknown:

Which was not meant for her to hear. No, but she heard it clearly not she was like what? And

LA:

poor Amber bless her heart. Janet just grabs her start slicing her face and I can't remember what she's saying to her. She

Berly:

was upset with Amber because that's when Amber was like preening to Ed through the cameras. They were kind of flirting just a little bit and Amber was eating it up. And Janet came up behind her was like you think you're gonna be a star and started cutting up her face. And

LA:

then she slices her throat right? And like sees it all on the cameras. So he runs in there. Janet Knox's asked down like across the room almost. And, and then he I think that's when he saw her in a mirror and realize like, it's the mirror that's keeping her as long as she can see her reflection that's what's keeping her there. So he says over the walkies or whatever they need to smash up all the mirrors next episode appropriately titled shattered. They're busting up all the mirrors and grabbed Amber and like ran out call 911 Do did all that and then Harry is calling him and it's like eagerness packed up just calling to see you know if Everything's good. We're really sorry about what happened. They ended up going to the hospital and Ed comes out and says the amber is going to make it. But

Berly:

shocking. Yeah. Throat got freakin slit. I don't know how that happened.

LA:

Yeah, I'm like, I guess she's just like he didn't have any big arteries or whatnot. Harry ends up saying that the Winchesters right. You know, you try to expose the truth and you just get punched in the face. And he's done. He's done with Ghost Chasers. And the next episode is why we fight and it's Harry talking about six weeks ago is what you all just saw on all the videos, and the Ghost Chasers have disbanded. Maggie's talking about how she's getting her Master's. Spruce is not LARPing. No, even though that's Maggie said, right.

Berly:

What are they saying? He's playing a role in a live action reenactment. But it's not like historical reenact historical rain, but it is not LARPing. It's not the same thing. No.

LA:

And then Edie is working at a pizza place. And as he's leaving work, Harry bombards them and shows him this newspaper where the theater that they were at got a new lease. I think Ed's like, whatever. Who cares? And he's like, no, no, like, you don't see that. These people people are going to be going there again, and they're going to be safe because of what you did what we did. And how many lives Did you save by what we do by killing Janet? Harry or no, I'm sorry. Just like the other ones, I get their names confused. That's terrible. Edie says Ed's like it. He's like, Alright, he's into it. And he's like, spin the tires, light the fires. And he's back in. Back in the game.

Berly:

I seen videos of the ghost phasers web series. I swear I've seen videos where Castiel is there. Yeah, you said that. But there wasn't one of that. So I wonder if this miniseries if there's going to be more next season?

Unknown:

I hope so.

Berly:

Who knows? They're cute. They're cute. They

LA:

make me chuckle.

Berly:

I know you love them ghost Pacers? We've watched the gag reel as well. Yes. My favorite gag reel moments were Jim Beaver stuff. Yeah. It's really cute. I'll see if I can't find it. If somebody hasn't posted it and share it on our Tumblr page with the rest of our sources, because I can't really think of any of them that I could actually describe faithfully.

LA:

Right? Well, I feel like long time ago, we watched so many online that it's like they're all interspersed

Berly:

is you've already seen I'm sure I'm gonna be able to find it somewhere and include it in our sources. I will say it wasn't as plentiful. But I definitely saw a blue steel or two still in the gag grill. Oh, yeah. The the blow job thing. Oh, yeah. Yeah, that happened. And I was just like, okay, so they knew they knew what they were doing. Goodness gracious. I was like, I

Unknown:

wouldn't do that. And then point at Casio. I was like,

Berly:

Oh, okay. So you're perfectly aware. Got it. All right. So I took some notes about some thoughts that I've had while I've been editing episodes as I do, because the special features normally kind of align to episodes or to certain themes throughout the season. It didn't really hit on this, but it's still a thought I'm going to share. Okay, so I was thinking about Zachariah. Y'all know I love Me, My angels Love Me, My angels, and how his downfall was one of the seven deadly sins if you think about it, his his pride. Remember how he got all butthurt about how he used to be Employee of the Month and all that other stuff and how dare they edited it and so he got sloppy, and he got all angry and got all up in Dean's face. got himself killed. Yeah, he was a freaking angel. He could have snapped and killed Dean. But he let his pride get the best of him. That whole you think Michaels gonna kill all that? I'm like, so I liked that. I liked that one of the Seven Deadly Sins led to Zacharias downfall. I think they could have played that up a little bit more in his in his appearances. If that was even intentional. I might be making something up completely. And then the other thing I was thinking I was like that would have been so cool if they had done that with the other angels to like wrath could have easily led to Uriel downfall in V could have easily led to Anna's downfall. Oh, yeah,

LA:

that would have been good. Gluttony your ships for Gabriel, you should be in the writers room.

Berly:

I know. Apparently, it's quite the experience based off of what Eric crypkey was saying. What did he say you haven't lived if you haven't been in a writers room or something? Yeah. And then the other thing I'm just curious about is like just Castiel ever find out how much his daddy Chuck helped them? Oh, yeah. Because Daddy Chuck is who got them to Lilith, which I guess that actually, you know, he didn't get them there in time. So Dane didn't stop there as a Lucifer but I mean, he did help them. And that's all Cassiel wanted was his daddy to come hell through. Does he ever find that out? Does he ever know I mean, don't actually tell me Well, we'll watch the show and find out but it's just something I'm curious about a question that was left unanswered that I'm curious about. Were there any questions or things that you've kind of thought of? After recording? Not at all?

LA:

No, I mean, there probably were, but I can't remember them now.

Berly:

Jot them down.

LA:

I probably should. Well, I I'm so busy taking notes on the damn episode. I'm like, I can't gather my own thoughts.

Berly:

All right. So time to get to business. What were your favorite episodes of the season? Okay, well,

LA:

you originally told me five but then when you told me to I was like, deal Well, we're

Berly:

doing five for for the five seasons for all five seas. Okay. Well in my in our Eric crypkey Five season live stream extravaganza. Okay.

LA:

Well, for now, my top two for this season. Yeah. But this season would be changing channels and the real ghosts phasers.

Berly:

Damn right. changing channels. Yeah. Well, an aircraft key. So

LA:

that was his favorite two.

Berly:

That was one of mine. But I had five listed, so I'll go ahead. No, no, no,

LA:

no, you're good. No, that should be yours.

Berly:

There were two this season. Okay. So I'll have another one that do you want me to say? No, you're good. But talk about why changing chat and talk about why they're here. Okay, well, I love

LA:

changing changing channels. Because just because it was so different. So good. And your man was fucking hot. Yeah, like it was just I don't know what it was kind of like a breath of fresh air. From all the other episodes, and I think we hadn't we've been through some pretty like dark ones. Yeah. So it's kind of nice. I

Berly:

like how it tied into the Apocalypse and the whole Michael Lucifer and how that's pretty much a mirror of Sam and Dean, which they talked about in the special features as well. I like how it really shined a light on that as well. Yeah, Gabriel just straight up pointing it out to them because they hadn't figured it out themselves. Right. But yeah, the different episodes and stuff in there. Yeah. The tropes

LA:

game show. Yeah, it was just fun. fine

Berly:

ass Archangel Ron and the whole thing. It was a good one. And then you said the real the

LA:

real ghosts phasers that just made me feel Ghostbusters. Oh, is that? Oh, I'm sorry. I totally thought it was real. Ghostface I'm gonna do it anyway. Because real Ghostbusters. Yeah. I just want I'd like to see Chuck again. But I thought that one was just too funny. Especially like after being a virgin. Yeah. And then the two guys that were like, like, trying to be them and everything. It was just so cute. I I think both of those I like just because they were a little more upbeat.

Berly:

We do tend to like the more upbeat ones. I mean, some of the serious ones are heart wrenching. Like good. Oh, oh. So

LA:

if I had to pick another one, it would be the one where Ellen and Joe abandoned all hope. Yeah, that would be another one because it just it got me. Yeah. That was so good. That's on your list, too. Is it? Abandoned?

Berly:

All hope? But it's good. I had a long list. I had a long list shit. Yeah, we've had we've had You've helped me eliminate two from my list. Oh, no, that's good. I discussed this before. But this is why I do this. Like I have more so that we're not just talking about the same. Well,

LA:

I saw your list but I didn't pay attention to because I switched back to make sure I know my episodes were about your good.

Berly:

Okay, so now that I've eliminated the changing channels and abandoned all hope from my list, I am left with four episodes. I had six listed so Oh, quit beating yourself up. But you had some from my list. I have a list girl. All right. So the first episode I have listed as my favorite is free to be you and me. That is the episode where Sam leaves to kind of go do his own thing. And we get to see Dean and Castiel work a case together so to speak. Oh, yeah. Which that was a fun dynamic to see. And we had the introduction of Raphael, we got our first look at an archangel that we knew of. Right, technically, we'd already seen an archangel. We just didn't know it yet. And I loved Raphael's entrance. Oh, yeah, with the lightning wings and the when they're like, Oh, you shut off the power in a house and he's like, actually the entire east side or something like that. I just I love that actor's voice and his performance as Raphael, that he was able to be so powerful and yet sorrowful at the same time, like I just I loved that. Getting to see Castile and Dane together and then Sam and what he was having to deal with working at the busboy, would you you loved busboy, Sam. I'm surprised he didn't bring up free to be me and honestly, and his you know, that's the window for Lucifer was first starting to try to seduce him as well. So I just there are a lot of elements in that episode, and I thought they were all tied together really nicely. I thoroughly enjoyed that episode. Next on my list. I have hammer of the gods, of course. Oh, ours

LA:

for it was a good one. Yeah, it

Berly:

was a good episode. I loved it. Obviously I adored it because Richard Speight Jr. was in it and Gabriel just it was so fun all the different guides and I loved all the different actors portrayals of the gods particularly John Emmet. Tracy is mercury. Yes. And Rekha Sharma is Kali, I just, they definitely stood out, adored them. The chemistry between Kali and Loki good. Oh yeah, so good. And Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles. I liked their performances in this too. They were comical without going over the top. Yeah, in a lot of sense and the core was fun. The ending upset me when I was incredibly upset with the ending but even mark Pellegrino was performance as Lucifer was so subtly just surrogate Yeah, yes, yeah. Error again and just Yeah, I just Yeah, the whole thing.

LA:

It's I like that he does it and it's such a typical like you how you would probably think he's just like so just like over it all. Like, it's beneath

Berly:

him. Everything's beneath him. And even talking with Gabriel. He's just like, what did he call us flawed abortions or something? Just Yes. Oh, my God. It just the whole I loved it. I loved the script. I loved the direction. There was even that scene where it was cutting back and forth between Loki trying to seduce Callie to get the blood and the fight going on which I normally hate it when scenes cut back and forth like that. But I loved I loved the whole thing. So that was that's number two. The next one I have on my list is the devil. You know, where we have Crowley helping Sam and Dean capture the stableboy Oh, yeah. Brady Brady. Oh, Chad Brady. actor Eric Johnson agreed with us that he's probably a Chad. Somebody else messaged me that apparently there's like the companion guide or something for the season his name's Tyson. But I told them that must be a typo because we've all decided he's Chad. So Chad Brady. Excellent villain. Crowley in the episode perfection. Mark Shepherd perfection. just such a fun episode. I love the hell hounds in it. Oh, yeah. How everything was tied up at the end. We've got the location of pestilence moving on just it was a wonderful episode. It could be considered a filler episode. But if it is Damn, what a filler. Oh, yeah, it was so good. Yeah, I loved it. And then the last one I have on my list is Two Minutes to Midnight. Because speaking of pestilence Matt Frewer he killed it again. I'm both sad and not sad that his time on screen was so limited. Because you pestilence but on the other hand, damn mafia are like killing it.

LA:

Yeah, this I mean, this being his last episode. He was cleaned up and did well. Yes. It wasn't gross. Well, he

Berly:

did get green vomit on him. Well, but

LA:

that wasn't his. Well, it wasn't. But he wasn't like emanating snot. And like when we first

Berly:

saw like blowing snot everywhere. That was so gross. So so gross. And then also, of course, Julian richings death, getting the introduction and just that one scene with him. So good. And then again, Mark Shepherd, of course, Mark Shepherd and Jim Beaver. And this episode, the kids of the kiss the one of our Jim Beaver, or Jim Beaver, I should use the character's names. When Bobby was able to stand. That whole scene. I loved all that. Just it was the perfect episode to hype you up for the finale? Yeah, so those those are the four I have free to be you and me hammer the gods devil, you know, two minutes to midnight, and then I had all three of your episodes. They were also on my list as well, but I eliminated them as you were saying them. I'm like, Okay, we don't need to talk about them twice. Let me let me take them down. So it's getting harder and harder and I narrow it down. That's not a good, not a bad problem to have true. All right. So that's it for season five. To close it out. Right yet again. toasting to those we're leaving behind in season five. First up, we're saying cheers to Joe Harville. Played by Alana tall.

LA:

Ellen horrible played by Samantha Ferris. Anna.

Berly:

I know. We're both Browning we'd love to play angels, played by Julie MC Nivin.

LA:

Zachariah, your man played by Kurt fuller. And

Berly:

even though we know he's not gone, you better fucking bet. We are toasting to Gabriel. Played by the fabulous. The electric the charismatic Richard Speight, Jr. shares. Hey, y'all, it's Burly.
