Berly:

Welcome to denim wrapped nightmares tipsy exchange Podcast where we explore the supernatural series episode by episode.

LA:

over drinks, we'll discuss the lore of gore and what we adore about the Winchesters and their adventures.

Berly:

I'm burly, and I'm a new fan of the series. I'm

LA:

LA, and I'm here along for the ride. Now let's get tipsy.

Berly:

Hello, la Hello, Burley. Tis the end. I know we made it.

LA:

Our last episode was two minutes to midnight, fittingly. On that episode, Crowley told Bobby He would give him the location of death, the fourth horseman in exchange for his soul. And knowing Sam and Dean need that fourth ring to stop the apocalypse. Bobby reluctantly agrees. He also got a little bit of a bonus in that Sam and Dean confront pestilence. guest star Matt Frewer. Yeah, very good. Very wonderful. Short, very short lived but great, he unleashes a deadly virus upon them and Castile must intervene on their behalf. Dean has a meeting with death to discuss Lucifer and an unholy alliance is formed at a very high price for Dean

Berly:

Pom Pom Pom,

LA:

and Bobby got his legs back. Yes.

Berly:

And death was like you have to let your brother die. Yeah. And Dean was like,

LA:

Okay deal.

Berly:

Which brings us to swan song, the 22nd episode of season five, as well as the season five finale. And it was originally planned to be the series finale of supernatural but we all know, that didn't quite happen. It originally aired on May 13 2010. The episode opens up, we hear a delightful little voice talking about automobile manufacturing of all things. What was the car he was talking about it first that he said it was like being made a big deal and some Ambassador came and drove the car wrap?

LA:

I didn't say I only put like the second one that rolled yours. Yeah,

Berly:

who cares? Because as Chuck said, you know, the second car that rolled out is the one that people really should have been paying attention to. It was a 1967 Chevrolet Impala. And he said it was originally purchased by Sal Moriarty. I know he said he was an alcoholic, like three arteries, blocked artery blocked arteries, and he would drive around handing out Bibles to people preparing them for Judgment Day. And he said the salmon Dean don't know this. But if they did, he thinks it would make them smile. Yeah. And after Sal passed away, presumably from a freakin heart attack. Yeah. You would think it was purchased off of a used car lot by one, John Winchester, and we got a little sneak peek sneak peek at Matt Matt Cohen shop in the car, which we saw back in season four. It was a really nice little intro.

LA:

I liked it. I mean, as the episode goes on, and they kind of put these little clips in about the car like I liked it.

Berly:

You kept talking about Rob Benedict needs to do more voiceover work is kind of he's kind

LA:

of like, just as he was narrating I was like, I could see him narrating movies or like commercial audiobooks. I like it, he should do it.

Berly:

So after we have this nice, warm, little loving introduction, we get supernatural BombBomb. We cut to the yard at Bobby's house, the scrap yard, Sam is hanging out by Baby D and approaches him takes a beer out of the cooler and lets him know. All right. I'm with you. I'm gonna back your play. I love how Sam was originally like, so you're gonna let me do it. And Dean was like, that's the whole thing. You don't need my permission. You're an overgrown man.

LA:

I know. I like that. overgrown, man.

Berly:

It's your decision. But I'm letting you know. I'm going to support you. I'm going to back your play. I'm going to do what I can to help make this happen. I'm not going to try and stand in your way. Yeah, it was sweet. It was very sweet. It was very sweet. And you could tell it meant a whole lot to Sam. And Dean was saying, taking care of you. That's been my whole life. But I've got to step back. I've got to let you do this. Try to save the world and maybe I need to grow up a little bit. I

LA:

like that. He said that to like, not just Sam but you do too. Like you got to go to Yeah, your own men.

Berly:

It was a really hard touching conversation heartbreaking at the same time because we know that this probably isn't going to end well. You can't know from the beginning. It's probably not going to end well.

LA:

I also liked that and I thought this was kind of big of Dean where he he said you know if anybody can do this, anybody is going to do it. You Can like putting his trust in Him after so long of just judging him and just not having faith in him. For him to say that, like, I feel like Sam probably was like, finally. Thanks, bro.

Berly:

It was really sweet. And it just kind of brings it back to, you know, I think that there was always the suspicion back and forth on that. But how much of it was Dean projecting? Whenever he would say, Oh, you're weak? Oh, you're not going to be able to stand up? How much of it was him projecting that he was feeling weak? He was feeling like he was going to give in to Michael putting

LA:

up a front. Oh, yeah, yeah, let their walls down. Yeah,

Berly:

truly being honest with each other. And truly accepting the situation here. There's not there's not going to be any getting out of it like this is happening. So then we cut to Bobby, he is going over all the omens that he's been tracking all fucking season. He's apparently a pro at it by now. So he's found quite a few things. And he's listing them off. He mentions that there was a 20 degree temperature drop in Detroit, but specifically within like this one small area. And Dean immediately is like, that's it. And we did get the reminder during the recap that we got at the beginning, where the devil said, you know, it'll happen to Detroit. I'll see you in Detroit. He's like, kept saying that Sam saying it to Dean. And Bobby even pointed out out of all these other things I pointed out to you. That seems like it's not that big of a deal. And Dean was just like, No, no, I know. He's always told us it would go down in Detroit. That's where it is. So now we're in baby. Like, we know where we're going. We know what we gotta do. We gotta get a bunch of demon blood because Castiel told us about that last episode, that Sam was gonna have to drink gallons of demon blood more than he ever had. Yeah. Exciting. And we got to location we got to get to Detroit. So road trip time. Sam, Dean and Castiel are driving them baby. And Dean like, looks over his shoulder and like all of that sweet little angel in the back door, and I was sleeping. And then Sam pointed out angels don't sleep. Oh, oh, poor Kath. I guess Dean or I guess Bobby's following them in the band with all the gear and everything they need. On their drive to Detroit. Sam starts pointing out to Dean like, Okay, if this works, and whether it works or not, I'm not coming back. Like I'm, I'm either going to be in the pit or I'm probably going to die. So I need you to make me a promise that if I get thrown in the pit, you're not going to try to bring me back. And Dean was like, wait a minute, wait a minute. I didn't sign up for that. I agreed to sit back and let you let loose overtake you and you jump in. I didn't agree to not try to get you back. And Sam was just like, it's too risky. If you try to get me out that he's gonna get out too. Like, what's the point of us going through all of this, if you're just going to turn around and accidentally set him free like I already did. And Dean was not happy with this. But Sam said, you're going to go find Lisa. And you're going to have the apple pie normal life, you're going to do barbecues, and all that other boring shit. So he gets deemed to promise him that that's what he'll do. They find some demon nests somewhere and drain demons and I'm guessing they've done this a few times because they have a minimum of four gallons of demon blood in the trunk by the time they get to Detroit. And it's I was just like, okay, he couldn't have been sipping on that while they continue driving.

LA:

That's what I seen like, in my mind collecting it on the trunk and my mind. I'm like, he's getting down those four gallons. Like how big is the stomach gonna be like, you should have been.

Berly:

I don't care if it's fucking water. You would have vomited. Yes, chugging all of that.

LA:

There's no way there's no way.

Berly:

Do you love that? He was like, Can you not watch me? Whatever?

LA:

Yeah, it was like, Well, for one. It's like I get that he does. Do you like Don't look at me because I know you hate this. But also like, don't watch me because

Berly:

yeah, I'm probably gonna puke a little bit. I just don't get it. Why was he not drinking while they were driving? Why did you save it until they're like chug all of it? Yeah. Oh, and then we got to see Bobby saying goodbye to Sam. Which I teared up at that. Very sweet. But Sam and Castiel is goodbye was just I'm sorry. It stole the show. So Sam after having this very heartfelt sentimental goodbye with Bobby turns around and goes up to Casio and just like knees. You look over these guys. All right, guys. It's just like, I'm sorry. It's not possible. Sam just makes a face and Cass is like oh yeah, I'm supposed to lie. And he just changes his demeanor like you could tell he's like, let me pretend like they do. Yeah, they're gonna be fine. And

LA:

yeah, no, no problem.

Berly:

It's hilarious to say I was just like, Okay, fuck. It was good. Thanks guy. All right, but I'm just gonna walk off Okay. Bobby has identified which building Lucifer isn't. He's got a demon count and all of that. So after Sam is done chugging his minimum four gallons of blood, he and Dean go strolling right out into the street and Sam is just like, Hey, go and get me. So the demons take Dean and Sam to Lucifer. And Lucifer is just being his little asshole self. I fucking hate him. I will never forgive him. I hate him. He's just like a Hey, guys. Nice to see you. As they are pitching their deception, I guess I'll say, Yeah, you know, Sam is trying to be like, Okay, here's the deal. I'm gonna say yes, but I live teen lives, you're gonna bring our parents back and Lucifer is just like, Okay, can you just can it stop the telenovela? I already know. Okay, I watched Gabriel's porno too. And I know about the rings. And I know that you have the rings. Just tells them their whole plan right there to their face. He's like, okay, so you're gonna let me in your vessel. And you and I are gonna have like a battle royale in your brain. Interesting. Interesting. And you're gonna jump in the pit like, okay, Sign me up. Because I think I'm gonna win. I think even quoted devil goes down to Georgia. Like, I'll bet a fiddle goes against your soul, which is telling because the devil lost that bet. It's foreshadowing. I think Chuck even mentions in this how the devil doesn't know or care about baby and the history and all that just foreshadowing he's going to underestimate them. Dean is wanting to go okay, plans off. Yeah, he's like, we're good. Yeah,

LA:

we're in peace out.

Berly:

He knows. And Sam is just like, No, it doesn't matter. It doesn't matter that he knows this is still the only play we have. It doesn't matter. And he looks at Lucifer and says yes. Then we see this bright light and we see Bobby and Cassia watching it from outside as Lucifer takes over Sam's body. Before this there was a scene where Lucifer is out the window and he like blows and that window ice is over. He rose, pitchfork and it I thought that was a nice little touch. Yeah, as a nice little touch. I still hate him. Oh, yeah. Hate him.

LA:

I liked when I'm saying I don't know what was Sam was saying to Lucifer but he he did something and then like the two demons behind him their heads like just popped from Sam.

Berly:

He was showing that he was ready. Yeah, he was all prepped, ready to take Lucifer fully come at it. So after we see the bright light and Bobby Casio, I'm all over the place with this recap. Sorry, no, you're good. You're good. After we see the bright light. Cassie and Bobby are looking on from outside wind dramatic minus, we go back inside, and everybody's on the floor. Dean comes to first and he goes over and checks on Sam was like Sam, are you okay? And Sam's like Dean. Oh, and he helps him stand. Dean pulls the Four Horsemen rings out of his pocket. He says some sort of an incantation and a different language. And then ring slammed up against the wall. And then it like sucks into like this black hole. The special effects were done really well. Like it didn't look fake. I thought it looked really cool. Dean helps Sam walk over to it. And Sam was just like, okay, and he's standing in front of it. And we both were like,

LA:

Yeah, I was like, shut that big boy. Like kick him in. And he's just stay. He's like prime

Berly:

right there. Because he was just taking so long just standing there. And we were just like Dean kick him in. But of course Dean's not going to do that. And you see Jared Peda Lucky's facial expression change. And he turns around and just says I was just messing with you. Then he turns back to the hole and he says an incantation. The wall comes back. And the horsemen rings come back and he pockets the rings and pieces out. Yeah, he's like Sam's gone, man. I got control.

LA:

I got him now.

Berly:

Dean meets back up with Bobby and Cass. They know the news ain't good. In fact, they're standing in front of like a TV store where there's a bunch of televisions playing like all these disasters and everything. And Cassiel is just like it started and Dean says yeah, like he's basically like no shit junk list and Cass's like you don't have to be me I was like,

LA:

that's a little harsh.

Berly:

Yeah,

LA:

I don't know you're hurtin let's go on. But cast is your bro. Yeah,

Berly:

it was not without your bro there, you know. So they're talking about how Okay, Michael has his vessel in atom. We learned that last step. So Lucifer has his chosen vessel with Sam now. They're going to have their final battle royale. They're going to meet At some specific place, and that will be that Dean asks Cass Well, do you know where the fight will be? Where's it going to be in castles? Like, no, I'm sorry. I don't I don't know. So they make a call to chuck. He's typing away telling his story about the Impala. We do hit Learn more about baby. Little boys growing up in it. Army man getting stuck in an ashtray. It's apparently still there to this day, Lego is getting shoved in the vents. So Chuck is still typing away narrating the story of Baby throughout the episode.

LA:

I loved when he said that like it showed when baby was like demolished by that 18 Wheeler. And that even when Dean restored it, he kept all those little like, things to keep it how it was. I like I love that. It was

Berly:

very sweet. Yeah, I loved that. Chuck was in his robes and his robe and boxers

LA:

same thing. Yeah. We haven't seen him in anything. Well, Oh, no.

Berly:

He's worn clothes in pub. That's true. That's true. Oh, come on, give her give our guy some credit here.

LA:

I will say another one of the little things that popped in about the car. I think Chuck said that. It's the blemishes that make her beautiful. And I thought that was such a pretty line. I loved that. He

Berly:

had a lot of good lines. In this episode. Chuck answers the phone and he goes Mistress Magda. And he was like, Um, no, it's me. What are you doing here? Like, what? What happened with Becky? He was like, things didn't work out with Becky I respected her too much.

LA:

And answer. I mean, come on.

Berly:

But then dean said, Wow, you really have a whole what was it? Virgin hooker thing going on? And we been spoiled. We know that Chuck is God already. I just hit pause on the TV and was like, What the fuck? And so now I want to go back and rewatch already because I'm like, what other little mines have we missed? Mistress Magda. Hello. And then the whole virgin hooker comment. I was just like, oh, hook her up. Didn't even say prostitute virgin prostitute thing going?

LA:

I think you said virgin hooker,

Berly:

version Hector. Something like that. I was like, Oh my god. So it's Chuck supposed to be like the Holy Trinity. See the Father, Son and Holy Spirit, taking them all. Like, first he was the prophet and then he was God. And now he's like, dissipated into being the Holy Spirit or something at the end? I don't know. Foreshadowing. Just just like, it was very clever. It was a throwaway line. But it was very clever. I liked it. I liked it. I liked it. Anyways, during this conversation, Chuck does know where the throwdown is gonna be he like tells me and like oh, the angels are trying to keep it very hush hush. They're trying to keep it hidden. But I saw it anyway. I know where it is. It's it's still cemetery tomorrow at noon. Still cemetery just so happens to be right outside of Lawrence, Kansas. So it's all starting where the Winchesters were born in their hometown.

LA:

Yeah, didn't sit somewhere somebody said like it has to end where where it started. Chuck did okay. Yeah.

Berly:

Now we know we know where the fight is going. And so Dean's decided he's gonna be there. In the meantime, Sam is still trying to get control of the vessel he has not given up he has not given in, and Lucifer is doing everything in his power to seduce him. There is a scene where Lucifer and Sam are talking to each other. Lucifer says I'm going to take the muzzle off. Let's have a conversation, where it's working with a mirror for reflection letting us know when it's Sam letting us know when it's Lucifer. That scene I felt was really well done. Oh, yeah. It was kind of annoying that whenever it was Sam, a lot of times he wasn't saying anything. And we just had no Sam because the facial expression that he was making. I wish they gave Sam a little more dialogue. Yeah, but I still really enjoyed it. But it makes sense loose for taking control the conversation too, you know? And he played Lucifer really well. I mean, just the arrogance and all of that he really does. Well,

LA:

he did well remember when he was in the White mismatch suit. So yeah,

Berly:

there was no his magic whites this time through. It didn't change.

LA:

I kept waiting for it. I liked that the mirror was cracked a little too, right? That

Berly:

it was just like disorienting, whatever we were looking at Sam and Jared paddle Lucky's nose.

LA:

And you and I know that nose,

Berly:

the nose, the Nose Nose. So Lucifer is telling Sam like, I want you to be happy. I didn't kill Dean. I can't even bring your parents back. In fact, look behind me Do you see all those people back there? Do they not look familiar? And it turns out these are demons who were assigned. Sam watch basically while he was growing up his grade school teacher his prom date was Azazel watchmen all in the room.

LA:

Which how like defeating to see that your whole life like all those people were just there manipulating your life. Yeah,

Berly:

I mean, it was one thing to find out about Brady, but now to find out that no, it wasn't just in college after you'd run away from home was your whole life and Lucifer was like, What do you say we go have some fun that put a fire under my ass to get him. And they did. They took out those, they took out those demons and drank them all up. You start questioning this is Sam. gonna stick with it because you could see his resolve was starting to wear down a little bit after that. Well, yeah, understandably, too, you know, like his life was on his own.

LA:

Mm hmm.

Berly:

We know he has that temper problem. That rage issue. So Lucifer is using his weaknesses against him to try and wear him down. It's honestly really sad. Yeah. So next up, we're in the cemetery. Lucifer is there and Adam arrives, this motherfucker starts trying to be all like We're brothers. Like we shouldn't have to fight like I don't know that. Book. You Where was that mentality? Two episodes ago? You sure as fuck didn't have any problem murdering your other brother? Why is it all of a sudden such a big issue for you that you don't want to fight this brother? You fuck motherfuckers I do not like Lucifer. Now that Big Brother's here, because Michael called him little brother. And you know, you're probably gonna lose. Now all of a sudden, it's Oh, we don't have to do what dad tells us to. We don't have to fight. But Michael says no, I am a good son. So this is going down no matter what. Well then we hear the engine rev from baby. And Dean pops a cassette tape into the cassette player and plays rock of ages so that he can drive 25 feet into the cemetery from the big gate. Slowly, slowly. I was like, he's he's been hanging out with these angels. He's been hanging out with these demons. He was like I got if I'm gonna go I have to make an entrance. I can just picture him being like, Yeah, this is the one this is the song. It's gonna be so good. Like, how long was he sitting there parked outside the cemetery waiting. Like he waited for both of them to show up before he was like rock with the engine.

LA:

I mean, it was good. Like, it was no death entrance.

Berly:

By any It was no Cassiel entrance. It was no death entrance. It but it was an entrance. It was an entrance. He did what he could with what he had to work with. You know, he can't grow lightning wings or murder someone just for fun with a flick of his wrist. But he has cassette tapes and an engine. So after he drives in and makes his dramatic entrance, he gets out. I was just like, hey, guys, what's up? Adam is just like, Um, excuse me. I'm sorry, not Adam. Michael is like, Excuse me. You are not my chosen vessel anymore. You have no right to be here. And he sounded just like a scorned lover. How dare you. You get out of here.

LA:

You rejected me. Yeah,

Berly:

you rejected me. You go away. You don't you don't get to be here, dude. It's just like, I'm not talking to you. So it's just talking to Lucifer and Lucifer is like, what are you fucking talking about? He's like, I'm not talking to you either. I'm talking to Sam. A did like that. He did apologize to Adam. Like Adam, if you're in there. I'm so sorry. Yeah.

LA:

Well, they

Berly:

tried. They try. Bless his heart. He first he gets eaten by ghouls and murdered that way for being John Winchester son. And now he gets brought back to life and possessed by an angel for the same reason. Yikes. As this little confrontation is happening. And Adam is about to be like, Okay, fuck this. I'm gonna I'm gonna put it into this. All of a sudden we hear Castiel go. Hey, ask but he's trying out swearing for his first time. And he throws a bottle of holy oil with the rag. He like lights the rag and like throws it at Adam and Adam screams and you can see that it's burning him up and he's in pain and he vanishes disappears. CASS is like, Okay, I got you. I got you. Your five minutes. Do what you can. Lucifer looks at him and it's like Castile. Did you just Molotov my brother? I guess y'all bless him. He goes, No. Oh, me. So Lucifer snaps and we get our 31st Blood splurge. The biggest one by far of the supernatural series as Cassiel just we literally see him explode chunks. And here's the thing he's exploded twice now like Raphael exploded him we didn't see it. We only saw the after effects of it with the tooth and Chuck's here and everything. So this is the second time Casio has gotten blown up by an archangel goodness. But seeing it was shocking. Yeah, you and I both yells

LA:

it Yeah, it was not pleasant. Just chunks lying. Good

Berly:

special effects though.

LA:

Yeah. Oh, yeah.

Berly:

Yeah, really good. Lucifer also snaps Bobby He's neck and kills him too.

LA:

Yeah, I didn't like, which I didn't like either of them.

Berly:

No, no, I mean Bobby like what's Bobby gonna do? Like okay, granted he was shooting you but

LA:

wasn't hurting him clearly

Berly:

Yeah. Who's that was ignoring you like just oh, so Dean just starts trying to talk to Sam trying to help him find the strength to take over and he's like I'm not leaving you like even if you're gonna die. He said this earlier in the episode when Casio was basically saying what me he's gonna die and Dean was like, well then I'm not gonna let him die alone. Either way I'm going. And so he did that he stood his ground. And he just kept trying to talk to Sam talk to Sam through Lucifer and it was pissing Lucifer off so he just started going to town beating the shit out of Dean. And the makeup on the face. Yeah, I mean, all it didn't even look like Jensen Ackles at all. They changed the nose, puffed out the cheeks. I mean all the fake blood. It was It seriously didn't even look like him to me and yeah, whenever all of a sudden done but then a reflection off of baby catches. Lucifers I D glances over and sees the army man shoved in the ashtray in the back seat that we learned about earlier in the episode. Then we get a montage of the boys lives essentially in baby. I cried. I boohoo cried. I was sobbing. You know, Chuck had talked about this throughout the episode about how okay, they didn't have a roof and four walls. But they were never homeless. I loved that. Oh, I'm like tearing up again. It was so precious. And it was so sweet. The montage was phenomenally well done. I loved it and have slow at first and then it sped up and it just took us through the entire series thus far. It was so good.

LA:

It was crazy to see like that when they were flashing them young and like the first season. It's crazy to see the difference. Yeah, it was

Berly:

so good. was the first fist eases up. And then we hear Sammy say I've got him. I've got them, Dean. It's okay. I've got them. Sam doesn't hesitate. This time he reaches in his pocket. He pulls out the four horsemen rings, throws him down on the ground, says the incantation and the hole opens up. And he's trying to take his time to say goodbye to Dean because he's he's got it under control. But then Michael, and Adam shows up again. And it's just like, No, this is not how this happens. Like, we have to fight. We got our Battle Royale. Yeah, I mean, bless Michael's heart, but he just is like, this has to happen. Like I'm a bad boy. I'm a bad boy. If this doesn't happen. You cannot do this to me. Sam is just like, sorry, man. And he holds out his arms and takes a breath and is about to fall back when Michael Adam runs forward to try and stop him. But Sam grabs them and pulls him in. They both fall in the pit. The ground closes back up. And the rings are just sitting there on the grass. And we were both like all of a sudden cast yellow appears out of nowhere, and comes over and heals Dean. Yeah. So he's back.

LA:

He's like a new and improved Yeah,

Berly:

all better. And thankfully, he goes over and heals Bobby as well and brings Bobby back to life.

LA:

I think didn't cast say like he thinks that God brought him back to as

Berly:

they were whenever they were driving. It's Castile and Dean and baby. Bobby's in the van, you know, he's got all the all the gear. And so they were having their long conversation. And Castile said that, you know, God brought him back. And maybe he even helped us more than that. You know, who knows how much he actually ended up helping us. Which I think that cast wants to think that because he wanted to recruit God to help them in the first place. Dean asks, Cass like, Okay, well, what are you going to do? And Cass says, you know, seems like it's the right thing to do that I go back home. Heaven is probably freaking the fuck out because Michael's gone. And Dan was like, so you're gonna be the new sheriff in town. CASS just kind of smiled. I was like, Yeah, I like that. And he pieces out. He goes away. Yeah, Dean's like you suck could pies. Dean was telling him that every fiber of his being is telling him to keep fighting. Find a way to get Sammy back. But he's not going to do that. Because he made a promise. So he goes to Lisa's. And I still just feel like this came out of left field. Am I the only one who feels that way?

LA:

No, I get you. I get you.

Berly:

I mean, I'm not mad about it. Right. I just didn't follow

LA:

that thread. Yeah, it doesn't make a lot of sense. Yeah.

Berly:

But she welcomed him with open arms. God bless her, tells him it's never too late and that he can come in. And so he goes inside, and we see them having a nice little family dinner at some point. Not sure how much time is supposed to have passed here. If it's the same night or if it's like a little bit later, I didn't see anything that pop up and said something like that. So I'm not sure that but it It pulls out. And we see the streetlight flicker and then burst. And it shows Sam standing underneath it. And so our whole thing is, but is that Sam? Right? Is that loose? Because I don't remember seeing him popping off lights. You know, so is that Sam is that Lucifer? How did he get out? What the fuck is that? So I guess that's a mystery that will we'll have to find out next season. The other thing that happened before this, that I forgot, was that as Chuck is narrating the ending to the story, we see him at his computer typing away. Rob Benedict is a better fake typer than John immatures. John and Tracy in his defense, he was supposed to look like he was going fast. Yeah, how well can you fake it going that fast? We see him in a nice white button up shirt. At this point, he decided he didn't get dressed. And he just like vanishes into thin air. Which I think I already said that earlier. But I just felt the need to bring it up again. Now, just because anyway, that was the end of the episode. It felt short.

LA:

I feel like both of these last two episodes went by really fast. Yeah. It

Berly:

felt like wrapped it up very quickly. You know, I loved all the montages, not just the montage at the beginning. But then and now with carry on wayward son in the background and all that but also the montage toward the end, whatever. Sam was gaining back control. I loved both of those montages. They were great that it was written by Eric crypkey for the teleplay and Eric jizz Gurwitz. For the story, who nicknamed that manages Yeah, that's not a great name. And it was directed by Steve Boyd them. The glorious thing was them draining the demons, and then just seeing the gallons of blood. I wouldn't say that was gory. But it definitely made me gag a little just thinking about chugging off four gallons. And then casts exploding as

LA:

definitely the special effects on

Berly:

that were so good. It was it was really it was impressive. Did you adore anything about this episode?

LA:

I'm not that big of a car person. But I liked how they kind of put in little things about the Impala. Like how it was made, and then how how much it meant to them and over their their lives. And I thought that was I liked that. I

Berly:

liked that as well. It was a nice symbolic token. Because that's been with us the entire series, right? You know, like, it feels like Bobby has been with us the entire series, but he hasn't been he wasn't there on Episode One. He wasn't there until the very end of Season One, I think if I remember correctly, so it's been the three of them the entire series, right? She's

LA:

a character in herself. Exactly. So

Berly:

to bring that in, and to emphasize its importance. Its connection to the brothers and the brunette brothers connection to the car was really interesting and creative. I thoroughly enjoyed that as well. Bringing baby to the forefront and letting her be the hero of the story. Almost, you know, right? Yeah, because it wasn't Dean that got Sam Mm hmm. It was baby. That's right. I adored seeing Cass being more human. Yeah, the sleeping in the backseat and then the whole I'm supposed to lie. Like that whole scene killed me. I thought that was hilarious. It

LA:

was so good.

Berly:

I fucking hate Lucifer. I know. Oh, that whole speech at the end that he was giving just made me livid.

LA:

Fuck you,

Berly:

bro. The worst. All right, well take us into the lore. Okay.

LA:

We're going to talk about this big ol fight we were supposed to see between Michael and Satan, Lucifer, that we didn't get to say sign. It's gonna be a lot. A few bible quotes I guess we'll get into but anyway, Archangel Michael will lead the fight against Satan during end of times. It says the Archangel Michael who reigns as the leader of all God's angels fights evil with the power of good. Michael has engaged in spiritual battles with the fallen angel known as Satan throughout history. The Bible says that the struggle will reach a climax in the future just before Jesus Christ returns to Earth, and Revelation 12 710. The Bible tells how Michael and the angels He supervises will defeat Satan and the other rebellious angels during the worlds and times. Now this is over the war in Heaven between angels and demons. And it says the Bible presents a vision of the initial battle in Revelation 12 seven nine. The war broke out in heaven Michael and his angels fought against the dragon and the dragon and his angels fought back. But he was not strong enough and they lost their place in heaven. The great dragon was hurled down that ancient serpent called the Devil or Satan, who leads the whole world astray. He was hurled to the earth and his angels with him in the Complete Idiot's Guide to connecting with your angels by Cicely channer and Damon Brown. They describe the battle as the dragon represents evil and there's no better Angel than Archangel Michael warrior for good to battle darkness

Berly:

the good son, he said, I'm a good boy good boy. Good boy, bad boy, bad boy.

LA:

The Ark Angel rounded up his band of Angel warriors and dispatch the fire breathing monster and its army in one verse, considering it against the usual loquacious SNESs of the Bible's authors. We can assume this one was a quick battle.

Berly:

Oh, so that's why everybody was just like, alright, just so you know, like if Sam doesn't get taken over and get him back in the cage, like he's dead. Yeah, they're like Michael will kill him. That's what Cass was trying to tell Dean like, I don't know why you're going there. You're literally just gonna watch Michael kill your prop. Yeah. And that's when he was like, won't let them die alone. I know. But that makes sense now, right? Let's bring it like quick,

LA:

quick battle. Could we really thought about fight. It says the power of good is always far greater than the power of evil since God is the source of all that is good. Even though the battle can sometimes get intense, the victory will always go to those who are fighting for good. Does it though?

Berly:

This is fantasy. All right.

LA:

This is okay. It kind of repeats itself a lot, I guess. And then this one. During the Battle of Indiatimes. MacArthur writes, Michael will defeat Satan completely so that no fallen angel will ever re enter God's presence or accuse faithful people. All of Satan's attempts to oppose God throughout history have failed, and he will lose the final angelic battle as well. Satan will suffer such a complete defeat that there will no longer be a place for him and his demon hosts in heaven every inch of heaven as it were will be thoroughly scoured and all the rebellious Fallen Angels thoroughly cast out, they will no longer have access to God's presence and Satan will never again accuse believers before God's throne. The Revelation Unveiled by Tim Lehane writes, the fact that Satan is once and for all cast from the throne of God along with his evil host will be the cause for great rejoicing in here in heaven. Heaven. Revelation 1210 12 provides more details on angels versus demons. Then I heard a loud voice and heaven say now have come to salvation and the power and kingdom of our God and the authority of this of his Messiah, for the accuser of our brothers and sisters who accuses them before God day and night has been hurled down they triumphed over him by the blood of the Lamb. And by the word of their testimony, they did not love their lives as much as to shrink from death. Therefore rejoice you heavens and you who dwell in them. But woe to the earth and the sea because the devil has gone down to you. He is filled with fury because he knows that his time is short. I feel like I like was preaching there from the Bible.

Berly:

A little bit a little bit. All right, well, next episode, we'll be going over special features and our thoughts over all of season five. But to close out today's episode, we have a quote from Chuck. Oh God. He said, no doubt, endings are hard. But then again, nothing ever really ends. Does it? Share? Thank you for listening to denim wrapped nightmares.
