Berly:Hello, la Hello Burley. We're in the final stretch. Yep. Last episode was called the devil. You know, the demon Crowley get started. Mark Shepard told Sam and Dean that he could help them find the stableboy who would lead them to the remaining horsemen so they could get the rings and trap Lucifer. And he knew their plan because the porno, right because he listened in on everything because of his coin that he slipped up in and watched. Crowley watched it too.
Unknown:Don't you think?
Berly:I would? I'm sure it did. I'd buy it.
Unknown:I know.
Berly:The brothers are doubtful of Crowley. But he does deliver them Brady guest star Eric Johnson Brady tells them where they can find pestilence. And Crowley makes a proposition to Bobby so that they can find death. They get the information they need. And they put it in action today. All right. Well, that
LA:takes us to Jay to go to today. Today. Today's episode is called Two Minutes to Midnight. It is the 21st episode of season five and aired on May 6 2010.
Berly:Is the title like referencing with the doomsday clock? What it is? Yeah, I'm assuming
LA:that's what it is, because we're getting there. All right. Well, we start out in Davenport, Iowa, and we see Mr. petts pastula pestilence. And he's looking much better than last time we thought, Oh, yeah. Like Matt
Berly:Frewer.
LA:Right. So so much so that I was like, where do we see him again?
Berly:Yeah, he was. His bedside manner is great. But like the things he was saying with the actual words, it was very confusing, because he was being very sweet. You know, but the stuff he was saying was horrifying.
LA:Yeah. He's like, hey, Celeste kid takes her hand. And he's like, my favorite. And she calls him Dr. Green, sweet little lady. And he's like, Oh, looks like you got a case of the cold fever. Japanese encephalitis got it. And she's like, Ha, and he like waves his hand over her face. And she instantly like just looks. Ill was blotches all
Berly:over. He said, Oh, you didn't get your chickenpox vaccine when you were little you gave her the pox? Yes. Just be sweet. This could be about at all and
Unknown:she's like, what she's like, what is what is kind of what is happening? And she's like, a year later, he calls her his petri
Berly:dish.
LA:Oh, and he's like, am I gonna be okay, it's like, oh, no, you're gonna die in 123. And she pukes this, like lime green clump clumpy stuff all over his face. Because that's interesting. And I'm like, one way to start out.
Berly:I love Matt for his performance though.
Unknown:He'd Yeah, I mean,
Berly:he because he could have gone a completely different route with it and been very menacing and evil it he didn't. I loved the deliverance. It was so good. Deliverance. Delivery. Yeah, maybe that's what I meant. I'm not thinking like that.
LA:So after that, great opening. We're at Bobby's Dean is pissed. He Sam told him his plan, and he's like, What the hell no. Are you crazy? And he's like, Bobby, you know about this. Mosley? Yeah.
Berly:I told them he told them. It was crazy, too. He told them about it in last episode. Yeah. Sorry, Dean.
LA:You're less to last. No, yeah. You better get on board. In the midst of his little tantrum, Cass calls him and tells him that he's in trouble.
Berly:Yeah, he's like, I blasted myself on my chest. And I woke up bloody. Yeah. It sounds like a rough night. But yeah,
LA:he just tells me he's like, he's not okay. And or Dean's like, do you want to elaborate on that? Did you want to tell me what happened? Where you are? What's going on?
Berly:He's like, are you okay? And he just goes, no, yeah. And I looked at you and I was like, you do that?
LA:You ask the question to answer. But he tells him he's at the hospital. We see him in a hospital bed and he says that he was found on a shrimping boat off of dellacroix and he was told that it upset the sailors. They were upset that he was on this shrimping boat. What do you make of them guessing?
Berly:Were you happy that they had him in the paper gown? I didn't even notice it. He wasn't in a V neck and scrubs. This time
Unknown:what's wrong with that?
Berly:Nothing real
Unknown:hospital. He
Berly:didn't get up and walk around though. It's true. Omer. Well, it's about
LA:time they be realistic. Well, we discover that Cass is he's depleted of his angel Enos. Yeah, he's he's got nothing left. He's human. So he's gonna need some money to get a bus or flight. An
Berly:airplane right
LA:old airplane, right? He said, food and then preferably some more painkillers. Because he's feeling it, baby. And Dean tells him that they found a way to pop Satan's box. Yeah, so he needs to. He needs to get on board and get over here what you
Berly:want. You want Dean to pop your box? off this box. Okay.
LA:And they're gonna he tells them they're going after pestilence. Pestilence. Why don't have a problem with that.
Berly:I always want to say pass Chulan me too. But that's not correct, right. Yeah. I don't know. Why do we want to do pestilence? Why do I want to pass to last? Because like, we're pest tools, postulates tools. I don't know. I don't know, either. It's weird.
LA:I don't like it. Anyway, while they're on the phone, Cass he says that he owes Dean an apology with this was very sweet. But at the same time, you're like Jesus writes, like, he tells Dean, he's like, I own your apology. You're not the Burton broken shell of a man I believed you to be. I'd be like they. So I guess like he
Berly:did. He was like, thank you. He was really proud of them. He didn't say yes to Michael. So
LA:that was a brill touching moment. I guess. After that, he's like, you know, get over here. We're heading out. We're going after pestilence. They show up at this. I guess it's like an old folks home kind of seemed like it right. That's what
Berly:I thought. Yeah. Especially because they said it was just depressing, right. Great getting
LA:old. I know. For some reason, Dean. Instead of going to the front desk, he pops into the security office and tells the security guard. He's looking for his nana, Eunice Kennedy. And the guy's like, why don't you get a front desk? He's like, Oh, well, you know if it shows you to help me out and knock the guy out.
Berly:We googled it, and it said Eunice Kennedy, Shriver was the founder of the Special Olympics. Good for her. Yeah,
LA:it's interesting that they chose that name.
Berly:I know. Even Sam was like, really? Yeah. Like, it's amazing things to come out of your mouth, you know, when you're in probing, but they wanted to get in there because they needed the cameras,
LA:right. So they said they set up shop in the security office, and they're looking on the cameras to see what they can find to see if pestilences
Berly:who's a demon who's a person who's pestle Yeah,
LA:they're what is what do they call it case in the joint through cameras, you know, yeah, it was a good move. Right? It was it worked in their favor. They end up seeing the doctor. A lot happens right after this.
Berly:Yeah, it's like first they see the doctor. And luckily for them, horsemen distort cameras. Every time a different camera picked him up at like, followed him around all the screens. And so Sam was like, Oh, look, look at this. Got him. Yeah,
LA:that's when we see Dr. Green with Celeste. So I guess that was just a little clip. This is actually happening right now. The goal, the boys, the guys start to head to that room. They passed by one room and there's a nurse in there and she kind of heard them go by her
Berly:Winchester. tingle went off. That was good. She was like a sense. So yeah. Oh, she rushes
LA:to the doctor's room, flashes her eyes black and tells them that the Winchesters or
Berly:their pestilence could not give a shit. Yeah, he's like,
LA:alright, well, yeah, we'll just off him. And she's like, No, no, no, we're not supposed to off them. And he's like, Well, do you know what they did to my brothers? Yeah, it's like, I don't give a fuck.
Berly:They cut off one of my brothers say, fingers not even hand and the other one. We're still not sure exactly what happened. But he ate some demons and they took them back away. How dare they? pestilences pissed. Yeah,
LA:he wants them dead.
Berly:So he instead well, not dead. He wants them sick. True.
LA:He twists his little ring. And we see this other doctor in another room just immediately overwhelmed and puking. Like you are selected. And then this nurse comes to help him and then as she's breathing in whatever he's got, she's become sick. The guys round the corner where these two are like laying in the hallway. And they start to be overcome. I mean, the shit works best. Hmm.
Berly:I did notice that pestilence hugged the nurse before He twisted his ring. And she didn't get sick. So she did she not get sick because he was hugging her while he did his ring. Or did she not get sick because she's possessed?
LA:I don't know. I honestly fingered her just because she was a demon. But you might be right since you hugged her hugged
Berly:her. Yeah. But he was also comforting her. So it probably is just because she was a demon because she was really concerned about the fact that Winchesters were there she was.
LA:The guys are like huffing and puffing in the hallway coughing, blurred vision doubled over, Dean ends up kind of passing out in the hallway. Sam goes into the room with the nurse Celeste and the doctor. So then he starts threatening them like, whoa, you guys, you're gonna have maybe you got the scarlet fever, maybe you got meningitis, maybe it's syphilis, whatever it is, it's gonna be bad. It's coming, you're gonna get worse. And then out of nowhere cash shows up, acted like he's gonna save the day, but unfortunately catches him as well because he's human now.
Berly:We're like, How'd you get here? He goes, I took a bus.
LA:That's where I thought of the bus. Well, I don't know exactly what transpired but like cast is like doubled over, like getting sick. And I think the doctors taunting him. Yeah,
Berly:he was taunting him being like, there ain't a better angel left in you. It's a house vessel but no power just totally taunting him. Yeah.
LA:The cast is like, oh, no, no, no. Don't you told me like that. Dean
Berly:or Sam? I think it was Sam actually. Because Sam is the one who made it to the door before he fell forward like a tree. Yeah, Sam had the demon knife and so he had dropped it and Dean had tried to get it but pestilence kicked it away. And so it just happened to be in New York house whenever he was killed over so Cass grabbed the knife and surprised pestilence and cut off them fingers baby.
LA:Got that ring. Oh, and then of course the nurse attacks but he kills her with a Demon Blade to pestilence is holding this little cut off finger and he tells the boys it's too late. It's too late. Anyway. Go ahead take that finger, but it's too late. Take that finger.
Berly:Yeah, take it. Okay, nationals.
Unknown:This all happened really fast.
Berly:It was I was surprised because Matt Frewer I recognized him at the end of hammer of the gods. I was like he played trash combat. Like I know I've seen this after in multiple things. I thought he was gonna be used more before they took them out. Right? We literally got two scenes with him. Basically. We got to see him. snot all over the convenience store. Then we got to see him get vomited on.
Unknown:Yeah, it's kind of a waste. Maybe we'll see him again. I
Berly:don't know. But at the same time I did. talented actor but really I did not need more pestilence. Yeah, it's gonna say, you know, yeah, like I'm a pretty girl. It was kind of a waste of a good actor. But I'm also okay with it. Because it was all gross.
LA:Yeah. Struggling over here. I could hear struggle, but get out of me. Damon, that's what she said.
Berly:Should I leave that in? Because we're talking about Yeah.
LA:Oh, my God, at the beginning of episode. Rebecca Bobby's once again. And they discover that herb I think Bobby tells them that Chicago is about to be wiped off the mat. Hmm. Crowley pops in. As
Berly:Bobby. Bobby says Death will be there. And that's what it was. Yeah, I will. Oh, my God, he did it. Because how else would he have possibly known that if he didn't do the deal that we were left on a cliffhanger with at the end of last episode. Right. And I was right. You
LA:were? Yeah. As soon as he said I was like what? And I was like so Crowley pops in? And he's pouring himself a drink? Because I think they asked him like how do you know that? Yeah. And Carly's like, Oh, let me do tell. Bobby's, like not wanting to give up the goods. But Carly's like, What, don't you want to share with share with the group share if you did? And I don't know why I forget which one of them was they were like? Carly basically is like he, you know, he gave me his whole or whatever. And they're like, Did you kiss sale? It was Sam, which I'm like, I totally forgot about that part. So I was like, what? And then I was like, okay, but Bobby's like, I think Bobby was trying to kind of deny it.
Berly:And he straight up said, No, it wasn't even kind of trying. It was like he's trying to put No,
LA:but Sure enough Crowley, like out of nowhere pulls out his phone and there's a straight up picture of them just Smooches and like you said the guys like they were going back and forth like a tennis match. Bobby Yeah. And Crowley, the
Berly:facial expressions for all all of the actors in this scene alone, just or fucking hilarious. It was so funny. It
Unknown:was so good. Boy, he was like, Oh, my God, you have to take a picture and Carly said Why'd you have to use Tang? It was so good.
Berly:So that LA and I were like, okay, so we need to meet a man in Bobby's kitchen. Get lots Romans has happened to happen it Yeah. connections are made. Yeah. We didn't make that up. And I told la that. That is Mark Shepards phone and he has that picture on his phone because I've seen that fact floating around, but I had no idea Why Mark Shepard had a picture of him and Jim Beaver kissing. So it was nice to finally see the reason that's too good. I love it.
LA:Just the back and forth between all of them in this scene was so good. It was such like quick witted. And I loved it. It was
Berly:so fun. It was so fun. So after all this,
LA:this revelation and things going on. Sam and Dean are outside and I think Dedes packing up and Sam tells Dean you know, he agrees with him. He gets where he's coming from. He understands why everybody thinks he's too weak to take on Lucifer. Oh, and he's like you know I get it I he's he's a very complicated boy. Man, Man Man
Berly:little boy is the boy with the demon blood.
LA:That's right but he says you know I don't know what else there is to do there's like literally no other plan nobody's coming up with anything this like I'm all you have. I'm all I'm the the one shot we've got. And you know, like, what else can I do? I gotta do this. And I like they're having this like nice little chat
Berly:there. Bromance. Yeah and then the Roman when
LA:they come to like a pause Crowley's like and seen. Yeah. Like his insurances are the best. Like, poured his drink in Bobby's, like what?
Berly:I love that he poured it and then he took it and when he put it up to his face and smell that he was just like, just set it down.
Unknown:Don't get enough.
Berly:He's a liquor snob. Bobby's liquor was not meeting Crowley's expectations.
LA:Yeah. Currently needs top shelf. Okay. Yeah, top of the line. We already know it. Yeah. All the best. We find out that there is now being a rushed delivery of the swine flu from niftiest isn't obvious from the vaccine
Berly:for swine flu.
Unknown:Right? I not say that.
Berly:Yeah. You just said the swine flu.
LA:vaccine. Yeah, I haven't written right here. But they know I think I think it's Bobby that points out. Well, if it's devious pharmaceuticals, we know like, they're fucked up.
Berly:It's Brady Brady.
LA:Right. That's Brady Brady is company and so if that's the case, then we know that vaccine is chock full of the Crotone virus. It's not an actual vaccine. And then the best scene of the show happens. Would you like to?
Berly:Oh, you're gonna give me the Yes, yeah. Oh,
LA:because you were the one that you said. Oh, the pale horse I didn't that didn't even click for me. And when you said it was like, That's so fucking cool.
Berly:It was so fucking cool. So well, everything was in slow mo I loved it. So I was trying to pay attention to every single detail because I knew I had to be in slow mo for a fucking reason. What kind of car was that was a Chevy.
LA:I know. I was gonna say we should look up because I love those old cars. But yeah, I think I want to say Chevy or Oh,
Berly:it was not a Chevy. What is it is a 1959 Cadillac series 6200 coupe. I knew it was a Cadillac. And there's a horse on the front, though, wasn't there? Was there? I thought there was.
LA:There may have been like little emblem or something just that they put on there. I thought there was a horse hood ornaments that some people used to
Berly:do. Remember, it's on the grill. There was something on the grill and I thought it was a horse. Hang on here.
LA:Do you remember hood ornaments when people would put those on there? Yeah. Why don't we do that anymore? We're gonna get one.
Berly:You're gonna get a head ornament. Oh, it was not a horse. Just their little symbol. No, it was yeah, it was just a Cadillac symbol. I just turned it into a horse into my brain.
LA:I mean, you picked up on it though.
Berly:Oh my God. His license plate was bought by wasn't really you HB ye?
LA:Oh my god. It was his license plate. I like I would watch the scene again. I want to see it again.
Berly:It was so cool. It was good. We haven't even gotten into met Julian richings And he's such a doll.
LA:Oh my god. I just saw when we were so sweet when I saw him I have clearly haven't seen it right in this until now. But he was such a joy and a delight at the convention.
Berly:But holy shit. He was so intimidating. Just who felt like he was losing power? Oh yeah. In his performance as death Yeah,
LA:and he wasn't even in it that much but it's just like damn Yeah, so
Berly:good but yeah, so slowly pulls up to the curb and the music that was playing I wonder what that song was cuz it was good. I was just saying oh death a lot. So I'm gonna go with that because the name of the song Okay, who knows? Beautiful song beautiful voice for whoever was singing it and just very slow mode. He gets out and we see his ring. And he's got a walking cane. long black trench coat. I mean just vanity space. No, we don't get to see his face. We do get to see a slick black. Six slicked black flipped Goddamnit slicked back black hair. You got it as he's walking through and we can see these got pale skin and the caddy is pale. I was like a
LA:pale horse like you're destined almost like you did see kind of like the side of his face and behind you like profile. I mean, cheekbones. Yeah. jaw line,
Berly:the very defined features of the face. And then some guy who, you know, I don't know him but we're going to assume he was an asshole, so that we don't feel bad for him. Just like shoulder checks death as he's walking as like, Hey, watch where you go in asshole. Death just kind of brushes that dirt off his shoulder. And as he does that, it goes back into slow mo. And the guy like eyes go wide and he just drops to his knees and falls down. We're assuming he died. There's quite the entrance. I got chills. I got chills.
LA:It was so good. I loved it. It was really good. And a great entrance for a character that you don't even get to see. Right, like so good.
Berly:Yeah, we didn't get to see him at all until nearly the end of the episode. It was so good.
LA:So after that great dramatic scene. We're back at Bobby's and Cass and Bobby are loading up. CASS is kind of doing a whole self loathing thing. Like, you know, we're gonna go do all this and I'm just useless. And Bobby's like really? Yeah, you want to talk to me about that?
Berly:He's like holding a sawed off shotgun is like, what am I supposed to do? Yes. Bobby's like you fucking point it and shoot. Get with the program. Yeah,
LA:I liked he was like, come on, quit quit pining for the old varsity day. I was like, that's good. That was good. There were great lines in this there really were that another one when, because they're all kind of packing up at Bobby's to get going. And it was like, he's like, you know, remember we used to just like hunt when dingoes you know, things were a lot simpler and just, you know, that is intense. And Dean's like no. Which like, okay, come on dean. And his
Berly:defense a lot has happened since Wendigo. back and see they are very
LA:driving when he even when he like mentioned that I was like, seems like a lifetime ago. Remember,
Berly:when they were on the plane and he had to go Cristo in order to identify a demon. And now they're so popular that the demons just come up to them and flash their black eyes. Oh,
Unknown:my God, I forgot about that. We've
Berly:come a long way baby.
LA:I'm sure have well Crowley ends up giving I think deem the site site site site site
Berly:site site site site, sir. Sorry. sighs we're,
LA:we're not completely dumb. And
Berly:we just play them on this podcast.
LA:Well, you know what, you know, what's sad is like, I always used to pride myself on like, I'm great. I was always like, good at spelling in English and like, say, you know, just speech and whatnot. And then Jen doing this. I'm like, God, I sound like a fucking idiot.
Berly:I used to be amazing at math. But I blamed smartphones for the never been good at math. I was really good at math.
LA:I will say like algebra and like geometry. When I finally got it, I enjoyed it. But getting there was a bitch.
Berly:It came naturally to me. geometry was was a struggle best for me. I did better at geometry than algebra. Vice versa for me. Yeah. Anywho. We both socket language now.
Unknown:So good. I used to like pride myself on it. And now doing this. It's just like, Fuck,
Berly:yeah. So yum. And Bobby and Castile are going to shut down the vaccine distribution. Dean and Crowley, his new bestie they're going to Chicago for death. And so Sam was trying to give him the Demon Blade, I guess to cut off death's fingers. And Crowley was like, no, no, I've got him covered. And he gave him the site. And he said that that was deaths. Actual weapon. It was rumored it could kill angels, demons and even death himself. Yeah,
LA:I thought he was gonna go kill him. Before they leave. I think Crowley mentioned to Bobby. He's like, are you gonna just sit there? And Bobby miraculously stands up and can walk. He got his legs back for selling his soul.
Berly:He said what do you want me to river dance? And Crowley was like, I mean, it's popular with the ladies or he said something like that. No one said anything. You're probably just kind of sat there like, Oh, I was like, what's that about? I remember the river dance craze, though. Oh, yeah. Yeah. We're chicks into it. Like into it. Oh, I don't know. I didn't remember it being bad. No.
LA:Oh, well, Sam Castile and Bobby are all in a van headed out.
Berly:Oh, hang on. Oh, Jim beavers facial expressions whenever he was able to stand. And he was like, thank you to Crowley. It was so precious. No, I really loved that.
Unknown:It was a moment.
Berly:I love his face.
LA:I love his sweet face. Well, yeah. The three of them are in a van headed to the facility where they're about to release all the vaccines. And I think he's talking to Castile families. And he's he's just saying, yeah, the plan. I'm gonna say yes, Lucifer and then I'm gonna jump in the hole. That's the plan. That's what's happening.
Berly:That's what I want to do. Go ahead and tell me it's stupid. Right. And Cass is like worse. I'll lie to you and tell you that if that's what you want me to say. But that's not what I think. Yeah.
LA:And he's like, you know, you both end up surprising me all the time. And he said, If Dean can resist Michael, then maybe you can resist resist Lucifer as well. He also mentioned that Michael moved on he has Joy Robert Dean and he has moved on to Adam like we thought before, but it's actually happening now. Yeah,
Berly:I thought he was going to I thought he was going to use them as bait again. But no, he's actually just like, I'm just gonna possess this guy. Yeah, it'll be fine.
LA:And Cass also mentions that in order for him to defeat Lucifer, like he would have to consume more demon blood than he's ever consumed. No,
Berly:no, he said in order for Sam to take in Lucifer.
Unknown:Oh, excuse me. Excuse me. Sorry.
Berly:CASS was like, let me give you some tips on good prep. Oh my god. Yep. Take it. You got to take it. All right. So I'm asking Okay, what did Adam have to do to prep? What's the drinkin?
Unknown:Who knows to take Michael angel blood?
Berly:is he drinking angel blood so he doesn't explode. What's he doing to not explode?
Unknown:I don't know. I don't think we're gonna find out.
Berly:Ask Jimmy. Oh, but Jimmy is not taking Archangel so he didn't have to do the same prep. He just had to stick his hand in a pot of boiling water.
LA:Anywho Bobby is ready for the plan. They're at the plant. He's like we're gonna plant some seed for every 25 feet. Let's get in there. And as he's rolling out this plan, cast just casually is like hey, there's a truck leaving. Yeah, with the vaccine right there.
Berly:He's like we got plenty of time. Plenty of time. And like your truck is leaving right now. Yeah.
LA:Cops over there knocks out the driver stops the gate. So like he can't get out. But the man in the warehouse sees this and he's like, Oh, the fucking Winchesters are here at first is Bobby and Sam just trying to get the civilians out. But then there's like this little group who apparently already took the vaccine and her Crotone shoe and on some other fellow people. And Sam just moves in taking them out shooting the place up getting the the people out, and then it switches to Dean and Crowley. And they're staring at this like a banner looks like an abandoned building just like a little warehouse and just 360s
Berly:there in the Meatpacking District. Are they?
LA:I don't know. Oh, Crowley says this is ground zero building and that this is where death is. And he thinks it's that that's the reason because the whole block is covered and Reapers all just standing there staring. Uh huh. And as Dean's like asking him why he thinks that he's gone. He's like, he goes to checkup. And Dean's like, what the hell and then out of nowhere, Crowley pops back out. And he's like, Oh, by the way, that's not in there. Sorry. He's not there. Just Just kidding. It's
Berly:like, I'm so embarrassed. Because he was making such a big deal about like, oh, yeah, I'm certain I'm certain of it. And then dean said, Okay, cut the queue.
Unknown:Did he really?
Berly:Yeah. And he's saying, you know, you have Bobby soul for this and Crowley shirt him, you know, we have a good return policy, don't worry. So
LA:they take off and they pull up into this little town that we saw death at like walking down the street earlier. They're in the car, and he's just like, sitting there like, how am I supposed to get 3 million people out in 10 minutes? And he looks over Crowley's gone again. Yes, sitting in the seat next stuff. And he's like, What the hell. So he's just like looking around and the nice Crowley across the street at some place. And Crowley's like pointing at the place mouthing something at him. And he's like, I don't know what you're saying, of course, Crowley pops back into the car. And it's telling him that death is in that building. And that in that, I guess, the restaurant, so they start to head into the restaurant. But it switches back to Sam and Bobby and Cass Sam is on a mission. I mean, and Bobby is kind of like to call Yeah, and off him like he just kind of takes a moment to look at him that ever since they busted in there. Sam has just been on the go killing these, like Crotone people getting these civilians out, not not even stopping. And I liked that. I noticed that he stopped and I was just like, what is that, but we find out later. But I liked that that happened. And one of the Crotone guys ends up attacking Sam and is like on him on the ground. Cast comes out of nowhere last is head off. Yeah. So he's not useless. And he's
Berly:like, these things actually are pretty like useful, I guess. Right? I'm like my sawed off shotgun now.
LA:Then we're back at the restaurant, and Dean is walking in. Everybody's there. There is dead. But there is one man sitting at a table eating pizza. And that is death. He pulls out the size. And he's looking at it and then out of nowhere, it's going and it's on the table with death. And he's like, thanks for bringing that back. For me.
Berly:It heated up and burned his hand. Oh, is that what it is? Yeah. So he dropped it, because it was heat hurting his hand. So he's dropped it and it made like this loud playing when he was trying to sneak in. And that's when he was just like, oh, fuck, and that's when death said that. Yeah. Thanks for bringing that back to me. Well, he
LA:asked Dean to join him and that he's been wanting to talk to him. He's basically saying like, how little insignificant you are to me, I think he says, How would you feel if like a bacterium sat across from you and got snarky or something and that I liked that. He said, Our planet is still in diapers. Yeah, compared to how old he is and what he's seen and everything. And he says He's as old as God but he can't even really remember they don't remember how old they are. He
Berly:said chicken or it's like the chicken or the egg. thing he doesn't know what came first God death. Like who knows? Yeah.
LA:But he says that he God will die to he will reap God. He wants to get this leash from around his neck that is attached to Lucifer. Lucifer has done some spell or something.
Berly:Yeah, that big spell that we saw him do where he was like, oh, hello death, where he like killed all those people in that town. Right? He somehow bound death to him.
LA:Yeah. And he's made death. His weapon death does not like it. And yeah, he's like, he says, How would you feel if you were chained to like a bratty child having a tantrum. And in order to like, fix this, he says he's inclined to give Dean his ring if he will help him. But he's gonna have to do whatever it takes to put Lucifer back in his cell, like in his cage. That even means like letting Sam jump into that fiery pit, then that gets you this ring. And so Dean agrees. He gives them the ring. We see him back at Bobby's, and now he has all four rings. Yeah. And he puts them it was weird. He put one in the middle and the three on the outside. And then they all like magnetically snap snap together. It looked
Berly:like well, death had told him at the illustration. Yeah, he was like, Do you want the instruction manual? So death had told them how to use them to open the cage, lock the cage, whatever. And
LA:Bobby comes up. And this is where Dean is like, what do you think that's gonna do if somebody lied to him? Like, clearly not planning on letting Sam go? Yeah. Bobby ends up saying, like, that moment when he was watching Sam in the warehouse, just going at it saving people. He says, you know, we're, we've been really hard on him. He did definitely has his demons and his his whatever. But there's a lot of good in him. He was like, I saw him. Save 10 people in a matter of like, minutes. Yeah. And he didn't stop. He didn't hesitate. He just was on it going. Never slowed down. I mean, they bet they probably the hardest one, Sam, because he's the baby. Maybe it's time like we like kind of like, let him be the man he is have some faith in him. Yeah. So then Bobby tells him You know, what are you? What are you really afraid of here? Like, are you afraid of losing? Are you afraid of losing your brother? Right? And then in which we all know the answer that way to
Berly:put it in perspective, Bobby right.
LA:Now time also like about time, like recognizing that about Sam. I mean, I know he's been through a lot or whatever, but he's a good guy at the core, and
Berly:he's focused and he's accomplished a lot. You know, give him some credit. This was written by Sarah Campbell. and directed by kitchen meet cute Phil so Grecia. They also worked together on Season One nightmare season threes The Kids Are All Right and Justin fellow season fours are you there? GOD IT'S ME Dean Winchester. And at the beginning of this season, good got yo gore. We were talking about this while we were watching the episode it felt more like an action movie quite a bit than it did horror or scary Yeah, definitely. Like there was some core elements to it but it just felt more action A like not really anything that we wanted to count as a blood splooge but there was definitely some Gore in here you know, when they cut off pestilence finger I liked that they did that shot from underneath the table. Mm hmm. That was pretty cool. Giving us a new take on the fingers getting cut off because it's happened how many times now? And obviously with the gunshots and things there was blood? Puke puke everywhere. Oh, that was gross. I don't even know if I call that gore. But yeah, the neon green pew lime green puke was disgusting. She adore anything about this episode.
LA:I liked Crowley popping in and out and just kind of like toying with Dean of it. Like it was fun.
Berly:You were laughing every time he disappeared or reappeared you were chuckling over there to yourself. It was funny. It was cute. I love Jim Bieber's facial expressions. There were a lot of scenes in this episode where the facial expressions made the scene to me Yeah, you know definitely with Bobby. So this so conversation that was fun, and then Bobby, getting to walk again. Of course my favorite moment of this episode was deaths. Introductions are sure I was gonna say that too. Yeah, so good. I got chills during this episode. I teared up during this episode. I laughed during this episode. This was a really good one. I really adored this one. It's a great episode leading to the finale. Yeah, I'm excited now to see what happens next. All right, well for today's lore, we're covering the remaining horsemen pestilence and death. Revelation six one dash two New American Standard Bible we have. Then I saw when the Lamb broke one of the seven seals and I heard one of the four living creatures saying as with a voice of thunder comb, I looked at And behold a white horse, and he who sat on it had a bow and a crown was given to him, and he went out conquering, and to conquer. The above passage is a common English translation of the writer of the white horse, sometimes referred to as the white writer. He is thought to carry a bow and wear a victor's crown. The writer of the white horse is more controversial than the others. Some consider him to represent Christ, while others believe he symbolizes the Antichrist. The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, there are a marked similarity to the four sets of horses that are similarily depicted in the Book of Zachariah. The second to last book in the Old Testament, the text in the Book of Zachariah reads as follows. And again, I lifted my eyes and saw and behold, four chariots came out from between two mountains, and the mountains were mountains of bronze. The first chariot had red horses, the second black horses, the third, white horses, and the fourth chariot, dappled grey horses. Then I said to the angel who talked to me, what are these, my lord? And the angel answered me, these are going forth to the four winds of heaven, after presenting themselves before the Lord of all Earth, in Zachariah. All of the horses and riders are servants of God. If these horses are the same for horses, and writers as the Four Horsemen that would suggest that the writer of the white horse and the book of revel is a lovely revelation is not the Antichrist, who is depicted in Revelation as a servant of Satan. Are you really thrilled with this so far? Yeah. Oh, yeah. However, in one interpretation, the first horseman is called pestilence. So however, in one interpretation, the first horseman is called pestilence, and is associated with infectious disease and plague, it appears at least as early as 1906. In the Jewish Encyclopedia, this particular interpret that this particular interpretation is common in pop culture references to the Four Horsemen. The origin of this interpretation is unclear. Some translations of the Bible mention plague, for example, the New International Version, or pestilence, for example, in the Revised Standard Version, in connection with the writers in the passage, following the introduction of the fourth writer, quote, they were given power over a fourth of the earth to kill by sword, famine, plague, and by the wild beasts of the earth. However, the original Greek does not use the word for plague or pestilence. Here, it simply uses death. The use of pestilence was likely drawn from other parts of the book of Revelation, and included here as a another form of death. Also, whether this passage refers to the fourth writer only, or the fourth writers, as a whole, is a matter of debate. Just FYI. I

So I can understand how that became an interpretation that those on my face that those three things could lead to death, or famine, pestilence, so I can see where that interpretation came from, but based off of like what it actually was, no, no, not necessarily true. Maybe it's Christ.

In his 1916 novel, The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, which was filmed in 1921 and 1962 provides an early example of this interpretation writing the horseman on the white horse was clad in a showy and barbarous attire, while his horse continued galloping. He was bending his bow in order to spread pestilence abroad, at his back swung the brass quiver filled with poisoned arrows containing the germs of all diseases. So there you go. That's what I got on pestilence. The fourth and final Horseman is named Death. Of all the writers he is the only one to whom the text itself explicitly gives a name. Unlike the other three, he is not described as carrying a weapon or other object. Instead, he is followed by Haiti's the resting place of the dead. However, illustrations commonly depict him carrying a scythe, sword or another implement, like a badass walking cane. The text reads, I heard the voice of the fourth living creature say, Come, I looked, and there before me was a pale horse. Its rider was named Death, and Hades was following close behind him. They were given power over a fourth of the earth to kill by sword, famine, and plague, and by the wild beasts of the earth. The verse beginning with they were given power over a fourth of the earth, is generally taken as referring to death and Hades, although some commentators see it as applying to all four horsemen.
